Square Enix Montreal said today that Hitman: Sniper's in-app purchases will provide players with items that can all be unlocked by playing the game as well, elements such as sniper rifle improvements and early access to new contracts. According to the studio, Hitman: Sniper will be similar to Hitman: Sniper Challenge, a stand-alone title that IO Interactive launched prior to the release of Hitman: Absolution, although it will be "tailor-built" for touchscreens. The scenarios are designed to be replayable, encouraging players to refine their techniques and strategies to climb up the leaderboards.

The free-to-play title, which Square Enix Montreal will show off at E3 2014 next week, is a competitive sniping game that challenges players to achieve high scores on stealth assassination missions. Hitman: Sniper is the next game from Square Enix Montreal, the team behind the critically acclaimed mobile game Hitman Go, the studio announced today.
